Europe's First Spot Bitcoin ETF (BCOIN) Listed on Euronext Amsterdam
August 16, 2023
Jacobi Asset Management has just launched the Jacobi FT Wilshire Bitcoin ETF, a “green” digital asset fund. It complies with EU Sustainable Finance™ guidelines and emphasizes a focus on positive environmental and social contributions. Jacobi originally wanted his Bitcoin ETF to launch in July 2022, which means it has been more than a year since the initial planned launch.
The ETF trades under the symbol BCOIN and is regulated by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC). Fidelity Digital Assets is handling custody duties for the ETF, Flow Traders is acting as a market maker, and Jane Street and DRW are acting as Authorized Participants.
Jacobi CEO Martin Bednall told Blockworks that the fund received an initial equity investment and will begin operations on August 3. The asset manager added Verifiable Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), developed in partnership with digital asset platform Zumo, to the ETF.
